Former After School member Nana accused of attempted murder and assault by intruder
Arrested for invading Nana's home, the burglar has filed a countersuit alleging attempted murder and assault

A man arrested for breaking into Korean actress Nana’s home has filed a countersuit accusing her of attempted murder and aggravated assault, according to a statement released by her agency, Sublime, on Friday.
The suspect broke into Nana’s residence in Guri, Gyeonggi Province, in the early hours of November 15 last year and was arrested on charges of aggravated robbery and assault. He is currently on trial. Despite initially confessing to the crime, the man later changed his statement, claiming he was not armed and had not caused injuries during the incident.
Sublime confirmed that the suspect has now taken legal action against Nana, alleging attempted murder and aggravated assault. The agency said Nana had initially considered showing leniency due to the suspect’s young age, but that decision was reversed following the filing of the countersuit. Sublime stated it now intends to pursue all possible civil and criminal measures against him, separate from the ongoing criminal proceedings.
“The suspect, who was armed with a weapon, inflicted severe physical and emotional harm on Nana and her family,” the agency said. “Despite this, he is exploiting the fact that Nana is a public figure to file a separate lawsuit with no remorse, causing a second round of harm through an inhumane act.”
According to police, the suspect entered the home at around 6 am, threatened the former after school member and her mother with a weapon and demanded money. During a physical struggle, Nana and her mother subdued him and contacted the authorities. Nana sustained injuries, while her mother required hospital treatment after being choked. The suspect suffered a laceration to his jaw.
On November 22, police concluded that Nana and her mother had acted in self-defence under Article 21, Clause 1 of the Criminal Act. “There was a real threat to the victims, and our investigation found they did not inflict serious injury on the suspect while defending themselves,” a police official said.
