ISLAMABAD:

A high-level meeting recently chaired by Islamabad Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa decided to further strengthen security monitoring across the federal capital by expanding CCTV surveillance at all entry and exit points.

The meeting, held at the CDA Headquarters, was attended by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, CDA Board Members, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, DG Safe City, DIG Operations, and senior officers from the CDA, Islamabad Police, and ICT Administration.

Officials briefed the meeting that the Safe City Project has been upgraded with advanced surveillance technology, enabling real-time monitoring of highways, commercial centres, and residential sectors. The system operates 24/7 and is manned by trained personnel to ensure rapid detection and response to any security threat.

Under the new plan, CCTV coverage will be reinforced at all key entry and exit routes of the capital, complemented by enhanced police patrolling and snap checking to prevent unauthorized movement and curb criminal activity.

Chief Commissioner Randhawa directed all concerned departments to ensure seamless coordination between Islamabad Police, CDA, and ICT Administration, emphasizing that public safety remains the top priority. He underscored the need to adopt a zero-tolerance policy against crime, backed by technology-driven surveillance and swift response mechanisms.

He also commended the Islamabad Police and district administration for maintaining peace and normalcy in the city, reaffirming that the federal capital's security infrastructure is being modernised to effectively address emerging challenges.
