Additional SHO goes missing in Mir Ali

MIRANSHAH:

An Additional Station House Officer (SHO) of Datta Khel police station, identified as Siddiq Khan, has gone missing in the Mir Ali tehsil of North Waziristan, prompting a large-scale search operation by police.

According to police officials, Additional SHO Siddiq Khan was traveling from Bannu to Miranshah when contact with him was lost in the Mir Ali area. Shortly afterward, his mobile phone was also found switched off. So far, no confirmed information has been received regarding his whereabouts.

Following the incident, police immediately initiated an investigation and formed multiple teams to trace the missing officer. Sources said checkpoints have been established at entry and exit points of the area, while nearby police stations have been placed on high alert.

A senior police officer stated that the incident is being investigated from all angles, and possibilities including abduction cannot be ruled out at this stage. As a precautionary measure, security has been further tightened in Mir Ali and surrounding areas.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
