Big brother: 900 surveillance cameras for Karachi

At least 900 video surveillance cameras will be installed at 164 locations within the next six months in Karachi.

KARACHI: At least 900 video surveillance cameras will be installed at 164 locations within the next six months in Karachi, said Inspector General of Police Wajid Ali Durrani to a visiting delegation of the 95th National Management College batch at the Central Police Office on Thursday. Unlike in the past, the video cameras will have multiple software technology, including a live search, facial recognition, virtual tripwires, motion detection and shape-base detection. An e-policing system will have new initiatives with an advanced monitoring system.

Inspector General of Police Wajid Ali Durrani has forgot One essential part of this speech that you need electricity to connect these camera.
