ISLAMABAD:

In 2025, the Security Division of the federal police ensured comprehensive security for 14 sessions of the National Assembly, 15 sittings of the Senate, three joint sessions of Parliament, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) tournament, and 969 national and international conferences and major events.

To this end, at various times, around 6,000 subordinate officers and personnel from the Security Division, Traffic Police, Special Branch, and Operational Police were continuously deployed on security duties.

According to a police report, foolproof security was also provided during the arrival and departure of 19 international VVIP delegations this year, including foreign cricket teams. In addition, to enhance the security of Chinese nationals residing in the federal capital and ensure swift emergency response, a "Panic Alert System" was introduced at the Special Protection Unit control room.

Separate and specialised security arrangements were put in place for key government buildings, embassies, diplomats, and prominent national and international personalities in the federal capital.

Several reforms and initiatives were implemented within the Security Division during 2025. Under the "Good Luck Policy", Naka Serena was upgraded in line with modern security requirements to further strengthen and enhance effectiveness.

An electrified fencing system was activated along the entire perimeter wall of the Diplomatic Enclave. Furthermore, modern ANPR cameras were installed at entry points to facilitate automated vehicle identification.

Open conferences were held with embassy security officers to discuss new security reforms and address challenges faced by diplomatic missions. Integrated and effective security measures were also implemented to maintain law and order in the Red Zone and the Extended Red Zone.

Following the establishment of the Police Service Centre "Kaskade", 2,652 diplomats availed themselves of federal police services during the year, while 7,044 diplomats utilised services for the issuance, renewal, and learner permits of driving licences.

During record promotions this year, officers of the Security Division were elevated to higher ranks and formally awarded their new insignia. To honour the services of Islamabad Police veterans, "Ghazi Week" was observed, during which Ghazis were invited and presented with gifts as a token of appreciation and encouragement.

Under the Green Pakistan Campaign, tree plantation drives were carried out in the Diplomatic Enclave with active participation from the police and the local community.

DIG Security Muhammad Atiq Tahir said that the Islamabad Police Security Division is taking robust measures to ensure foolproof security for diplomats, national and international delegations, important personalities, and sensitive installations.
