“Don’t put the burden of completing you on someone else,” Mawra Hocane on a healthy marriage
Actor Mawra Hocane recently appeared on Gup Shup with Fuchsia, where she spoke about what she believes makes a healthy relationship, placing particular emphasis on emotional independence and personal wholeness.
Hocane, who has built her career around emotionally layered roles in popular dramas such as Aangan and Sabaat, reflected on her own life while discussing the subject. The actor, who married fellow actor Ameer Gillani earlier this year, said she never viewed love as something meant to complete a person.
She went on to explain why she believes this way of thinking is important in relationships, particularly when expectations begin to build. “You can’t place the burden on someone else to complete you,” Hocane said. “It’s unfair, and it can make the other person miserable too, trying to constantly fulfil your expectations.”
