Rob Reiner and wife Michele found dead, sources say son Nick responsible
Authorities found the couple dead at their Brentwood home, with sources identifying their son Nick as the suspect

Rob Reiner, the acclaimed American actor, director and producer, and his wife Michele Singer Reiner were found dead at their Los Angeles home on Sunday, December 14 after first responders were called to the property to provide medical aid.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said it received a call at approximately 3.30 pm. Upon arrival, crews discovered a 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman deceased inside the residence. Multiple sources have since confirmed to PEOPLE that the victims were Rob and Michele Reiner, and that their son, Nick Reiner, was responsible for their deaths.
Authorities have not publicly detailed the circumstances, and the investigation is ongoing.
Reiner’s career spanned decades and included some of the most recognised films in modern Hollywood. After gaining early fame as Mike Stivic on Norman Lear’s television sitcom All in the Family, he went on to direct This Is Spinal Tap, Stand by Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally..., Misery and A Few Good Men. His work earned both critical acclaim and enduring popularity.
Born in the Bronx, New York, in 1947, Reiner was the son of comedian Carl Reiner and actress and singer Estelle Lebost. He married Michele Singer Reiner in 1989 after meeting her during the production of When Harry Met Sally..., and the couple had three children together. Reiner was previously married to Penny Marshall, who died in 2018.
