Disney Animation executive and Zootopia 2 co-director Jared Bush has sparked fresh excitement around a potential Zootopia 3, teasing a possible cameo from Keanu Reeves as a llama assassin nicknamed “The Baba Llama.”

The comment emerged during a fan Q&A session held on social media to celebrate Zootopia 2 crossing the $1 billion mark at the global box office.

Responding to a question about dream guest stars for a third installment, Bush revealed that the idea came from his son, who urged him to cast Reeves in a John Wick–inspired role. Bush said he could not imagine a better cameo, instantly sending fans into speculation mode about the franchise’s future.

During the Q&A, Bush also addressed several lingering fan questions about Zootopia 2. When asked why alligators did not appear in the sequel, he explained that the creative team had to limit the number of animal species due to production constraints, noting that alligators and kangaroos still exist within the world of Zootopia. He also discussed story development, sharing that Disney Animation frequently revises first acts to ensure the strongest narrative foundation.

Bush further hinted that future installments could explore more of Nick Wilde’s past, saying there is “certainly more to unpack” when asked about the character’s childhood experiences. The tease has fueled theories that Zootopia 3 could dive deeper into Nick’s personal history.

Beyond the Zootopia franchise, Bush provided a brief update on Disney’s upcoming Encanto attraction at Animal Kingdom, confirming that recording sessions with the original cast are nearly complete.

While Zootopia 3 has not been officially announced, Zootopia 2 continues to dominate the global box office, with analysts projecting a final haul between $1.5 and $1.7 billion.
