The federal government sacked Aamir Rehman, Deputy Attorney General (DAG) of Lahore on Monday.

While speaking to Express, Rehman confirmed receiving the notification relieving him of his duty. However, he does not know the reason why he has been sacked.

Rehman was appointed as deputy attorney general of Lahore in June 2008. Being the senior most officer in the Law and Justice Department, Rehman said that he had been assigned by former Attorney General Anwar Mansoor to look after the department.

Sources said that there is a possibility that Aamir Rehman's removal was an internal conflict, as he was appointed by former attorney general, Latif Khosa.

Rehman, however, did not have affiliations with the People Lawyer’s Forum which supports the Federal Law Minister, Babar Awan.
