After an 18-year hiatus, Sindh will host the 35th edition of the National Games, which will kick off with a grand inaugural ceremony at the National Bank Stadium on Saturday (today). PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is scheduled to be the chief guest at the ceremony.
Sports Minister and President of the Sindh Olympic Association Sardar Muhammad Bux Khan Mahar, along with Olympian Arshad Nadeem and Sports Secretary Munawar Ali Mahesar, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the stadium on Friday to review preparations.
"We have completed all the necessary preparations for the ceremony on Saturday," Mahar told media persons after the visit. "Foolproof security arrangements have been put in place for the safety of all participants and spectators. Though everything is in order, we remain vigilant and will continue making final adjustments until the last moment."
The sports minister stressed that stringent security measures would be enforced both inside and outside the stadium.
