Discord has launched its first year-end recap, with the new Checkpoint feature rolling out to users worldwide from December 4 2025.

The launch offers a detailed summary of how people used the platform throughout the year, echoing the popularity of Spotify Wrapped and YouTube Recap. According to Discord, global users sent 744 billion messages and reactions across the platform in 2025.

The company confirmed that Checkpoint will appear gradually for all users over the next two days. To access it, users must update to the latest version of the app.

On desktop, a new flag icon appears in the top-right corner, while mobile users can find the feature in the “You” tab. Discord said the gradual rollout means some users may see their recap appear later than others.

The feature provides personal statistics such as messages sent, time spent in voice channels and the servers that occupied the most activity. It also identifies the contact a user interacted with most frequently.

Checkpoint includes a list of each user’s five most-played games of 2025, which can be compared with Discord’s global rankings. It additionally shows emoji usage patterns, highlighting which reactions dominated individual conversations.

The global data shared by Discord places the red heart emoji as the most-used emoji of 2025, followed by the sobbing face and joy face emojis. The fire emoji entered the top five for the first time, while the green checkmark completed the list. Discord noted that more than 200 million people used the platform monthly in 2025.

Users receive one of ten Checkpoint cards based on activity, each paired with an avatar decoration available until January 15 2026. These cards can be shared directly in servers and private messages, though Discord emphasised that sharing is optional.

Discord’s most-played game of 2025 remains League of Legends, continuing a 16-year trend. Other notable titles include Rematch, R.E.P.O., Marvel Rivals, Minecraft and Genshin Impact, all of which featured prominently in global activity throughout the year.
