Mercury expected to drop to 10°C in Karachi amid strong winds

Karachi experienced colder temperature on Wednesday as strong chilly winds swept across the city throughout the day, while the Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted more chilly days ahead, with temperatures expected to drop to 10°C.
According to the PMD, the lowest temperature was recorded at Jinnah Terminal, where it dropped to 8.9°C. In Bin Qasim, the minimum temperature was 12.1°C, while the Old Airport station recorded 12.5°C. At Shahrae Faisal and Maripur (Air Force weather station), the minimum temperature stood at 13.5°C.
The Early Warning Centre has forecast that these chilly winds are likely to reduce the city’s temperature by one to two degrees Celsius. On Wednesday, the city recorded a minimum of 8.9°C and a maximum of 28.4°C.
PMD said winds originating from the northeastern direction of Balochistan reached a maximum speed of 25 kilometres per hour.
In rural Sindh, Mohenjo-daro recorded the lowest temperature at 3.8°C, highlighting the significant chill affecting the region. Residents have been advised to take precautions against the sudden drop in temperatures as the cold weather persists.
