Keen-eyed Stranger Things fans have already noticed continuity errors in season 5, proving that nothing escapes the scrutiny of the show’s dedicated audience.

One discrepancy appears in episode 4, Sorcerer, during a flashback of Will (Noah Schnapp) building Castle Byers with his brother Jonathan (Charlie Heaton).

Will remembers it as a sunny day, while in season 2’s The Mindflayer, Jonathan recalls staying up all night in rainy weather, ultimately getting sick while finishing the project. Some viewers suggest the difference could reflect how trauma affects memory.

Another continuity issue arises in episode 5, The Turnbow Trap, when Joyce (Winona Ryder) states Will was 11 when he was first taken to the Upside Down.

Earlier missing posters and previous episodes indicate he was actually 12, echoing a prior mistake in season 4 regarding Will’s birthday, March 22.

The Duffers previously acknowledged the error and apologized, even mentioning they had considered re-editing the line to correct it.

Volume 2 of the final season is set to release on Christmas Day, December 25.
