Hazara defeat Bannu by 81 runs in Zalmi Women Cricket League Season 2

Peshawar also outplayed Kohat by 83 runs in the second match of the day

The second day of the Zalmi Women Cricket League Season 2 in Peshawar concluded successfully, with all three matches decided. The league is being organized by Peshawar Zalmi and the Zalmi Foundation in collaboration with Ufone 4G, UN Women, and the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

After the success of Season 1, Season 2 is also underway with great enthusiasm in Peshawar. Three matches were played on the second day at the Hayatabad Sports Complex.

In the first match, Hazara defeated Bannu by 81 runs. Hazara scored 125 runs for the loss of 2 wickets, while Bannu could only reach 44 runs with 9 wickets down.

In the second match, Peshawar beat Kohat by 83 runs. Peshawar made 123 runs for 5 wickets, and in reply Kohat managed only 40 runs for 5 wickets.

In the third match, Mardan defeated Peshawar All Stars by 8 wickets. Peshawar All Stars scored 66 runs for 6 wickets, and Mardan successfully chased the target with only 2 wickets down.

This year’s edition strengthens the vision of “From Dreams to Reality” and marks an important step toward promoting women’s cricket.

Season 2 is supported by Ufone 4G, UN Women, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Higher Education Department, and DG Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to empowering women, providing equal opportunities, and creating pathways for young female players to advance in professional sports.

The success of Season 1 introduced the Zalmi Women League as the first regular women’s cricket league of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the national level. It helped showcase new talent, improve the standard of women’s cricket in the region, and laid a strong foundation for future development. The Season 1 champions, Peshawar All Stars, are now determined to defend their title.
