The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has reportedly told the BBC that former PAF air marshal Jawad Saeed has been court-martialled for allegedly providing sensitive PAF information to his brother.

Responding to a question in an exclusive conversation, a PAF spokesperson said Saeed was sharing sensitive information with his brother in the United States.

The spokesperson claimed that “the former air marshal even provided his brother with details such as which fighter jets were stationed at the Mianwali Airbase”.

Jawad Saeed’s wife, Shazia Jawad, initially approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) and later the Lahore High Court (LHC) to obtain details of the court martial proceedings against her husband.

While hearing one of Shazia Jawad’s petitions, the LHC Rawalpindi Bench on October 22 ordered the government to decide within one month in accordance with the law if any matter regarding the former PAF air marshal was pending before it.

A military court sentenced former air marshal Jawad Saeed to prison under the Official Secrets Act, 1923 in April this year

His wife told the BBC that the court martial proceedings were initiated because her husband had authored a white paper highlighting alleged instances of abuse of authority by his successor.
