KARACHI:

The Pakistan Hindu Council on Wednesday staged a protest at Swami Narayan Mandir as part of its three-day demonstration campaign against the recent statement of Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. A large number of civil society members, students and media personnel joined the protest alongside the Council's senior leadership.

Chief Coordinator Krishan Sagar told the media that, on the instructions of Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, patriotic Hindu citizens across Sindh continued their protest for the second day. He said the Indian minister's remarks amounted to "open interference" in Pakistan's internal affairs.

He added that, responding to the Council's call, students, teachers and residents in cities, towns and villages across Sindh had taken out rallies, where members of the Sindhi Hindu community expressed strong anger over the statement.
