Sam Pepper permanently banned from Kick after firework incident during Diwali livestream in India
Sam Pepper is reportedly banned permanently from the streaming platform Kick after a Diwali livestream in New Delhi took a troubling turn and prompted widespread backlash across India.
The British creator, who was visiting the capital during the festival, initially appeared to be enjoying light-hearted interactions with local children lighting firecrackers. The situation later escalated, leading to intense criticism nationwide.
Kick has permanently BANNED Sam Pepper after he shot a firework at a young girl in India, leaving her blind in one eye
pic.twitter.com/sQ4UQ8Wrl8Footage circulated online showing Pepper firing firecrackers toward a group of children, with one rocket striking the eye of an eight-year-old girl.
A local man approached Pepper shortly after to inform him that the child had lost an eye in the accident. The clip triggered strong reactions across social media, with many describing the incident as a reckless misuse of fireworks during a cultural celebration.
Pepper later disputed claims about the extent of the injury, writing on social media: “Was in India tonight with another big group firing small fire cracker back and forth at Each-other, seems stupid now I’m writing this. But one of the group on the other side got hit by a cracker I shot and got a cut above their eye brow. I feel terrible, we sent someone with them to get them checked out and made sure all costs were paid, they got a paper stitch, and are now back home.” He insisted that reports of the girl losing her eye were “exaggerated and incorrect.”
However, multiple accounts on X alleged that the injuries were more severe than Pepper stated. The uncertainty surrounding the incident, combined with video evidence, has intensified calls for action against the streamer.
