Bulgaria urges Pakistan to deepen economic ties

Ambassador of Bulgaria Irena Gancheva has said that as Bulgaria and Pakistan celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations, it is the right time to explore new avenues of collaboration, particularly in the fields of economy and trade. Speaking at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) on Tuesday, she said both countries already have a bilateral cooperation mechanism through the Joint Inter-Governmental Commission for Economic Cooperation, as per a statement. Established in 2015, the Commission held sessions in Sofia and Islamabad, while the third is expected in Bulgaria next year. She hoped Pakistani business representatives would participate actively.

The ambassador stressed the need for a business-to-business forum alongside the next session.
