First live-action Legend of Zelda movie footage emerges as filming begins in New Zealand
First set footage for the live-action Legend of Zelda film appears online as filming gets underway in New Zealand

Initial footage from the live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda has appeared online as filming gets underway in New Zealand.
The clip, shared on Instagram by content creator Tonyolsenfilm, appears to show actor Bo Bragason in costume as Princess Zelda during an outdoor shoot.
The short reel depicts Bragason walking through a forested location while crew members guide her across the set. Her costume resembles Princess Zelda’s design from Breath of the Wild. She approaches another woman dressed in darker clothing who is standing beside several horses and holding a sword.
Commenters suggested the scene may depict Impa, a recurring figure in the franchise, though this has not been confirmed. The recording includes no dialogue and was captured from a distance with production equipment visible around the performers.
The live-action film stars Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bragason as Zelda. It is directed by Wes Ball, with Nintendo collaborating closely throughout development.
Although the studios have not formally disclosed filming locations, production listings and reports from the area have indicated New Zealand as a principal site.
This material represents what appears to be the first publicly circulated on-set footage showing actors in costume. Until now, Nintendo and Sony Pictures had confirmed only the lead casting and the scheduled release date.
No official still images or teaser material have been issued, and neither studio has commented on the newly surfaced video.
The Legend of Zelda live-action movie is set for release on March 26 2027. Further updates are expected as filming progresses.
