Airlines in Pakistan face widespread flight delays, cancellations

Passengers inconvenienced as airlines including PIA, Qatar Airways, AirSial face disrupted flight operations

Major airlines operating from Pakistan’s key airports are facing widespread disruptions, with several flights cancelled and others delayed, affecting travellers.

Qatar Airways has cancelled its round-trip flights 604 and 605 from Karachi to Doha. AirSial also cancelled round-trip flights 121 and 122 from Karachi to Islamabad, as well as multiple flights between Karachi and Lahore, including 141, 142, 143, 144, 125, and 126.

Meanwhile, SalamAir’s Muscat to Karachi flights were also cancelled.

The national flag carrier, PIA, continues to experience significant delays across multiple routes. PK300 from Karachi to Islamabad faced a five-hour delay, while the Karachi to Lahore flight faced a delay of an hour and 20 minutes.

Islamabad to Karachi flights PK301 and PK309 saw delays of four hours and one hour, respectively, while flights to Gilgit and Toronto saw delays of 42 minutes and half an hour, respectively.

Additionally, PIA’s PK455 from Karachi to Skardu was cancelled.

AirBlue’s Lahore to Karachi flight PA401 departed 48 minutes late, PIA’s PK303 departed one hour late, and Qatar Airways’ flight 611 to Doha faced a delay of ten minutes.

The widespread flight disturbances come amid persistent operational challenges, particularly in regards to the national flag carrier, which is facing an ongoing dispute with its aircraft engineers.

Domestic and international passengers have been significantly inconvenienced.
