Pokimane called out trolls for “uterus watching” her after repeated comments about her age and family plans

Twitch streamer Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys has addressed online trolls who have repeatedly questioned her personal life, particularly regarding her age and decision not to have children yet.

The 29-year-old broadcaster, who has amassed over nine million followers on Twitch, spoke candidly during a November 2025 livestream about the constant comments she receives about her age.

“You know, people who come in and go, ‘Why don’t you have kids yet?’ Stuff like that? Someone said I’m ‘pushing 35.’ That’s six years away!” she said, responding directly to viewers who have made remarks about her turning 30 in May 2026.

Pokimane noted that while she does want to have children someday, she finds it strange that some people focus so heavily on the subject. “I find it really odd, because I don’t think there’s an issue with not even wanting kids. But I actually want kids,” she said.

She went on to describe the behaviour as “uterus watching,” a term she coined to mock those monitoring her personal choices, drawing a parallel to “pocket watching,” where people scrutinise others’ financial situations. “Why do you care if there’s a baby in my uterus? Shouldn’t you go get a partner and worry about their uterus?” she added.

Pokimane’s comments have sparked discussions online about the pressures placed on women regarding age and motherhood, particularly in the gaming and streaming industries.

She is not the first female streamer to respond to such criticism. In 2024, fellow content creator Valkyrae addressed similar remarks after a user on X called her “expired” at 32, joking, “I am aging, and I am, indeed, a woman.”

Pokimane continues to advocate for more respect and privacy for women in online spaces as she approaches her next milestone year.
