For British actor Anya Chalotra, saying goodbye to 'The Witcher' has been both emotional and liberating.

After seven years portraying the formidable sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg, she has wrapped her final scenes for the Netflix fantasy series. "I wrapped The Witcher for good yesterday," she said, fighting back tears. "It's all very odd... I cried a lot."

Chalotra, who joined the show at 23, reflected on the journey that defined much of her twenties. "You know these people... everyone works so hard on the show. Eight months of a year for seven years. I'm going to miss everyone's faces."

According to The Guardian, 'The Witcher', adapted from Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski's novels, became one of Netflix's biggest hits, known for its mix of monsters, magic, and medieval politics.

Chalotra also spoke candidly about the darker side of fandom, recalling the online backlash she faced early on from viewers critical of her casting. "The first season, for me... there was a lot of negativity. This was one of my first jobs. It hit me hard. I learned very quickly that it can all be quite intense." She has since stayed off social media.

The actor praised her new co-star Liam Hemsworth, who replaces Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. "We just wanted to make space for Liam. He understands people. He understands this world. It was really easy."

Born in Wolverhampton to an Indian father and English mother, Chalotra credits her multicultural upbringing and early love for Bollywood films with sparking her acting ambitions.

Now 30, she looks ahead to new challenges, including her role in the thriller 'Two Neighbors'. "The character's in me and I've let her go," she said thoughtfully. "It's not sad at all really — it's a new beginning."
