Sherpao urges Kabul to curb terrorism
.

Chairman of the Qaumi Watan Party (QWP), Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, has urged the Afghan government to ensure that its territory is not used for terrorist activities against Pakistan, warning that this issue has brought bilateral relations between the two neighbors to an unprecedented low.
Speaking at a public gathering in Swabi on the death anniversary of QWP leader Syed Shahenshah Bacha, Sherpao expressed hope that the ongoing talks between Kabul and Islamabad in Turkey would yield positive results and help maintain the current ceasefire.
Sherpao stressed that the Afghan authorities must objectively assess the situation, noting that several Pakistani security personnel recently lost their lives near the border, yet Pakistan continued to exercise restraint.
He emphasized the need for confidence-building measures, expressing optimism that the negotiations in Turkey would lead to the creation of a joint monitoring mechanism to prevent Afghan soil from being used against Pakistan.
He also thanked Turkey and Qatar for facilitating the dialogue between the two countries.
