Home appliance company Sunbeam is being sued by a customer who claims one of its heated mattress pads caused severe burns while he was sleeping.

According to a lawsuit filed by Jack Ryger and obtained by TMZ, the incident occurred in December 2024, when Ryger says he used a Sunbeam heated mattress pad and later discovered burns and permanent scarring on his arms.

The filing reportedly includes photos of his injuries as evidence.

Ryger alleges that Sunbeam failed to provide adequate warnings about potential safety risks associated with the product.

He also points out that the company has faced multiple similar lawsuits in the past involving its heating devices.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified monetary damages for the injuries and suffering Ryger claims to have endured.

Sunbeam has not yet commented publicly on the case.
