CM clears fleet purchase for police

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has approved the purchase of new vehicles for police.
Afridi on Friday signed the procurement summary for a fleet that includes four armoured personnel carriers, 39 single-cab pickups, 34 double-cab pickups, two Revo SUVs, 15 pickups and seven other vehicles. He said the vehicles will be provided to police stations across all districts to boost operational readiness and provincial administration is equipping police with modern facilities.
"Our personnel are fighting on the front lines and we will provide them necessary facility," the chief minister said, adding that provision of bullet-proof vehicles worth Rs1.89 billion is under way.
