Meghan Markle loses tenth publicist as ex-Netflix executive Emily Robinson resigns after three months
Former Netflix executive Emily Robinson quits Meghan Markle’s team after three months

The Duchess of Sussex has parted ways with her tenth communications chief in five years, following the resignation of Emily Robinson, a former Netflix executive who joined Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s team in June 2025.
According to Daily Mail’s Alison Boshoff, Robinson, who had previously worked on The Crown, left her post after just three months. A friend of Robinson described her as “not a quitter,” suggesting that “things must have been pretty horrible for her to go.” Her LinkedIn profile no longer lists her time with the Sussexes, though her previous roles remain visible.
Robinson’s hiring was considered controversial given her involvement with The Crown, a Netflix series that portrayed several sensitive moments in royal history, including fictionalized scenes featuring the ghost of Princess Diana.
Her departure marks another setback for the couple, who have faced ongoing public relations turbulence since relocating to California in 2020. Over the years, at least ten publicists have departed from their team, though two—James Holt and Miranda Barbot—were later reassigned to non-PR positions. The Sussexes’ current communications staff includes Liam Maguire, who oversees European communications, and Meredith Maines, their chief communications officer.
The couple has recently faced renewed scrutiny over their media strategy, including criticism of Meghan’s appearance at Paris Fashion Week and her participation in Fortune’s Most Powerful Women event in Washington. A Vanity Fair profile earlier this year also raised questions about her management style, prompting the Sussexes to respond with a positive feature in People magazine.
A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said Robinson “oversaw project-based work for With Love, Meghan and additional production support,” adding that “she did an excellent job and completed these projects with great success.”
