The District Health Authority has finalised a schedule for a 12-day measles and rubella vaccination campaign starting November 17 to protect children aged six months to five years.
Parents have been urged to ensure their children receive the vaccine to safeguard them from life-threatening diseases.
A total of 822,766 children will be vaccinated during the campaign, which will be conducted simultaneously in urban and rural areas.
For this purpose, 217 fixed vaccination centres and 486 mobile teams have been constituted, and team training is underway.
Chief Executive District Health Authority Dr. Ehsan Ghani appealed to parents to cooperate with health teams for the safety of their children.
He said community participation is essential for the success of any vaccination drive. He also appreciated the people of Rawalpindi for consistently supporting such campaigns, which contribute to their effectiveness.
