A tragic incident occurred at Disneyland on Monday evening when a woman in her 60s was found unresponsive after riding the Haunted Mansion attraction.

According to the Anaheim Police Department, emergency responders were called to the scene after Disneyland security personnel administered CPR until paramedics arrived.

The woman was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Police confirmed there was no indication of any malfunction or operating issue with the Haunted Mansion ride, which reopened shortly after the incident. The Orange County Sheriff-Coroner Office will determine the official cause of death. The woman’s name and city of residence have not yet been released.

Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion, which first opened in 1969, is described as a slow-moving attraction that combines spooky special effects with storytelling. The ride is currently themed for the holiday season as “Haunted Mansion Holiday,” inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. The festive version features characters like Jack Skellington, Sally, and Oogie Boogie bringing a Halloween-meets-Christmas twist to the experience.

This marks the second fatality at a major theme park in recent weeks. Less than a month ago, a guest died at Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe after being found unresponsive on the Stardust Racers rollercoaster.

Authorities continue to investigate the Disneyland incident, and officials have extended condolences to the victim’s family.
