Offset is breaking his silence about the end of his marriage to Cardi B, taking accountability for his mistakes and reflecting on the challenges of navigating a high-profile relationship in the public eye.

In a candid conversation on Baby, This Is Keke Palmer, the 33-year-old rapper acknowledged his role in the downfall of his seven-year marriage. “I was definitely not perfect in the situation,” Offset said.

“I made a lot of mistakes. [There’s] a lot of things that I did wrong. She did things that was wrong.”

When host Keke Palmer asked what he might have done differently, Offset didn’t hesitate to take responsibility.

“I should’ve respected her way more, you know what I mean? I made bad decisions as a man, like stepping out,” he admitted.

Offset explained that when Cardi ultimately decided to leave, he knew he had to accept it.

“That’s why when she left, I had to take that on the chin,” he said. “I was being selfish, you know what I mean? And I can say that as a man. I'm a grown man.”

The rapper went on to reflect on how their split, and his infidelity, played out publicly, admitting that scrutiny made an already painful process harder.

“The narrative be nasty sometimes on me and it don’t be that,” he said.

Offset also emphasized the importance of family, noting that he and Cardi share three children, daughter Kulture Kiari, 7, son Wave Set, 4, and daughter Blossom Belle, 13 months.

“We’ve got kids to live for,” he said, suggesting that while their marriage may be ending, their partnership as parents continues.

Meanwhile, Cardi B, who is currently pregnant with her fourth child, her first with New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs, shared her own perspective in a recent interview with Jay Shetty on On Purpose. The 32-year-old rapper said she began mourning the relationship long before it ended.

“I felt the love dying,” she said. “From my end, from his end … I was very lonely because I chose to be lonely.”

Cardi added that even after deciding to move on, it took her heart time to catch up.

“It took months for the heart to say, ‘You’re done.’ Because you could say it and you could take actions, but even if you take actions, if you’re not done you’re not done.”
