Spotify has officially announced its integration with ChatGPT, enabling users to discover music and create playlists through natural language prompts. According to Spotify, the feature lets users search for songs, albums, artists, and podcasts simply by mentioning “Spotify” in their ChatGPT conversations. The integration prompts users to connect their Spotify accounts once, after which results appear directly in ChatGPT’s interface with options to open tracks in the Spotify app.

The feature supports both free and premium Spotify accounts, though with varying levels of customization. Free users can explore existing playlists such as Discover Weekly or New Music Friday, while Premium users can generate personalized selections based on specific moods, themes, or events—like “plan a weekend road trip playlist.”

Spotify confirmed the rollout is expanding to 145 countries and is available for ChatGPT Free, Plus, and Pro users across web, Android, and iOS platforms. Users can opt out of the integration at any time through ChatGPT settings.

In its official statement, Spotify noted that while the feature is in its early stages, improvements are underway. “It might not be able to deliver on every request just yet, but we’ll continue to refine the experience,” the company said.

This update follows nearly a year after Spotify introduced integration with Google’s Gemini chatbot. The company has also undergone major leadership changes and recently added support for lossless audio and direct messaging features. The ChatGPT partnership marks another major step in Spotify’s push to combine music streaming with conversational AI for a more interactive listening experience.
