JoJo Siwa’s UK tour took an unexpected turn this week when the singer stopped her Glasgow concert to eject a fan over a hoodie she described as cruel. The incident, which quickly went viral, has divided fans online, with some defending Siwa’s right to protect herself from ridicule and others accusing her of overreacting.

The controversy unfolded during Siwa’s Infinity Heart Tour at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro Arena. According to viral TikTok clips, the former Dance Moms star interrupted her set after spotting a fan wearing a purple jumper with a taped-on drawing of an egg featuring her face, a reference to a meme that previously mocked her hairline.

The singer paused the show when she noticed the fan in the audience wearing her face printed in the shape of an egg https://www.attitude.co.uk/culture/film-tv/jojo-siwa -fan-glasgow-concert-mocking-her-497932/

Holding up the hoodie on stage, Siwa addressed the crowd directly. “You’re not going to come to my concert and bring a hoodie making fun of me. No way. No way, man,” she said, before instructing security to escort the fan out. “We only got room for infinity hearts in here. Get them out of here. No, I’m serious. Now.”

One of the fan, identified on TikTok as Anjali, later explained her side of the story. She claimed she and a friend made the hoodie themselves after finding the meme online, believing Siwa might laugh at it. “We didn’t have any merch, so we printed the first funny picture we saw,” she said in her video. “We didn’t know it would be a trigger for her. None of it was malicious. JoJo, I’m so, so sorry.”

Anjali admitted she was on the verge of a panic attack after being removed, saying she felt blindsided by the reaction. She insisted her excitement for the concert was genuine, noting that she had recently grown to admire Siwa beyond the initial joke.

The incident has sparked a wave of debate online. Some users rallied behind the fans, arguing that Siwa overreacted and embarrassed fans who meant no harm. Others applauded Siwa’s strong stance against ridicule, pointing to her history of being mocked for her appearance and the negative toll it has taken.

The moment has now cemented itself as one of the most talked-about controversies of Siwa’s tour, ensuring the ‘egg hoodie’ will be remembered as more than just a meme.
