PESHAWAR:

Dark clouds swept over Peshawar and its surrounding areas on Sunday, followed by strong winds and rainfall that finally ended the city's prolonged spell of heat. The rain brought a noticeable drop in temperature, marking the arrival of cooler weather across the region.

What began as light drizzle in the afternoon soon turned into steady showers by evening, turning streets wet and glistening while refreshing winds blew through the city. The sudden change transformed the weekend into a pleasant break for residents, who enjoyed their Sunday holiday in the cool breeze.

As the temperature dipped, many Peshawarites switched off their air conditioners and welcomed the new season.

Markets quickly responded to the change in weather, shops along Dilazak Road, Kohati, Saddar, and Hayatabad began displaying warm clothes, including sweaters and woolen socks.

The downpour not only cleansed the city atmosphere but also signaled the start of the winter season in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's capital. Residents described the shift as a welcome relief after weeks of scorching temperatures, with many stepping outdoors to enjoy the rain-soaked evening.
