Truth about D4vd not being named a suspect in Celeste Rivas case amid ongoing investigation

The Los Angeles Police Department has clarified that singer D4vd is not a suspect in the investigation into the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, countering widespread but inaccurate reports circulating online. Authorities confirmed that no suspects or persons of interest are currently being pursued.

Rivas’s body was discovered on September 8, 2025 inside a Tesla registered to the musician, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke. The vehicle had been parked for weeks in the Hollywood Hills before being impounded.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has not yet determined the cause or manner of death, leaving open questions about whether foul play was involved.

Captain Scot Williams of the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division said investigators are working closely with the medical examiner to establish what happened. “It remains unclear whether there is any criminal culpability beyond the concealment of her body,” he said. Police emphasised that online speculation about D4vd’s involvement is unfounded.

False claims alleging that the singer is under criminal investigation have been widely shared across social media platforms. The LAPD has urged the public to rely on official updates and avoid spreading unverified information.

D4vd has retained Los Angeles defence attorney Blair Berk, known for representing high-profile clients including Harvey Weinstein and Reese Witherspoon. The singer has not issued a public statement, and his scheduled performances remain cancelled.
