Taylor Swift’s 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, leaked online hours before its scheduled release on Friday, October 3, 2025.

The pop star appeared to acknowledge the incident by “liking” an Instagram video that criticized fans who listen to leaked albums.

The clip, shared by content creator Josh Felgoise of the Guyset Podcast, condemned the leaks, noting that waiting for the official release preserves the excitement. “Apparently Taylor Swift’s album leaked and that’s messed up,” Felgoise said, adding that he preferred to experience the record with full production as intended. Swift’s Instagram interaction quickly drew attention from fans who saw it as her subtle response.

Felgoise later posted a follow-up video expressing shock that Swift had engaged with his content. “This has to be the most insane thing that has happened,” he said, sharing his anticipation for the album’s arrival.

Reports suggest the leak occurred after some fans received physical copies of the record ahead of schedule. The Life of a Showgirl includes 12 tracks and features collaborations with producers Max Martin and Shellback, as well as a song with Sabrina Carpenter.

Swift first announced the project in August during an appearance on her fiancé Travis Kelce’s podcast, New Heights. Reflecting on the creative process, she described the album as one of her most ambitious works, developed during her ongoing Eras Tour.

Despite the leak, excitement for the release remains high, with fans expected to stream the album in record numbers.
