To preserve the environment and enforce the Murree Master Plan, the Murree district administration has imposed a three-month ban on all types of construction activities across the district under Section 144, as per the orders of the Punjab Home Secretary.
According to the notification, a complete ban has been imposed for 90 days on the construction of houses, shops, markets, plazas, factories, roads, and alleys in Murree.
Additionally, activities such as stone crushing, all types of drilling, mining, and mountain cutting have also been strictly prohibited.
Transport and delivery of building materials like sand, gravel, steel, bricks, blocks, and related machinery have also been banned for the same period. Violations will lead to criminal cases and arrests.
According to sources, the district administration has taken this step to promote eco-friendly practices, protect forests, and ensure a peaceful environment for the public.
The ban is effective immediately and will remain in place either for three months or until the Murree Master Plan is fully implemented.
