Victoria Justice has confirmed she will release new music on October 3, 2025, the same day Taylor Swift drops her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.

The announcement has prompted debate among fans about whether the move is a confident strategy or a risky clash with one of the world’s biggest pop stars.

While more than 70 artists opted to bring their releases forward to September 26 to avoid competing with Swift’s record, Justice took a different approach.

She posted on Instagram, “I’ve never felt like this before… 10•3•25” alongside a short teaser clip. The video shows her in a bold red dress as a new track plays in the background, hinting at a darker sound.

Swift announced her forthcoming album during an appearance on the New Heights podcast on August 13, 2025, revealing it had been written and recorded during the European leg of her Eras Tour.

The Life of a Showgirl will be accompanied by a three-day release event including a music video for "The Fate of Ophelia", lyric videos, and behind-the-scenes footage.

Fans have shared mixed reactions to Justice’s timing. One wrote, “Victoria Justice loves setting herself up by releasing on the same day as Taylor.” Another posted, “Victoria Justice is either very brave or very dumb.” Others have expressed support, with one user suggesting, “We should stream Victoria Justice in between repeating showgirl next week.”

Justice has previously found herself in a similar position. In April 2024, she released her single "Raw" on the same day Swift unveiled her album The Tortured Poets Department, drawing similar comparisons between the two stars.

The decision ensures that Justice’s release will be part of the wider music conversation, whether as competition or as an alternative on a major release day.
