Insomniac Games has announced that Marvel’s Wolverine will launch on PlayStation 5 in Fall 2026. The update was revealed during Sony’s September 2025 State of Play showcase, where a new gameplay trailer and cover art were presented.
Developed in collaboration with Marvel Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment, the game offers an original take on Logan’s story. Actor Liam McIntyre voices Wolverine, portraying his struggle to uncover a dark past while contending with enemies determined to block his search for answers.
The trailer revealed several well-known Marvel characters, including Mystique and Omega Red, alongside the Reavers faction. It concluded with the appearance of a Sentinel prototype. Set across diverse locations such as Madripoor, the Canadian wilderness, and Tokyo, the game will feature intense combat and cinematic storytelling.
Aaron Jason Espinoza, Senior Community Manager at Insomniac Games, shared that the new cover art was designed in collaboration with comic artist Jock. The artwork aims to highlight Wolverine’s layered personality while remaining faithful to his comic origins.
Gameplay will centre on Wolverine’s adamantium claws, fast combat, and berserker rage, offering players brutal yet fluid fighting mechanics. Insomniac has also confirmed accessibility features in line with its Spider-Man franchise.
Speaking on the upcoming release, Capcom producer Genki Sunano said the studio is “thrilled for fans to jump in and experience the franchise in a new and exciting way.”
Fans can expect more updates in Spring 2026, with Insomniac promising further details on gameplay and story direction. Until then, players can follow official social media channels for new information.
