Channel 4 has released a new documentary exploring the unexpected rise of Jack Kay, better known online as the “Ibiza Final Boss,” following his sudden fame from a viral TikTok video. The 20-minute film, THE IBIZA FINAL BOSS – HAIRCUTS & HANGOVERS: UNTOLD, is now streaming on Channel 4’s digital platform and is part of the broadcaster’s UNTOLD series.
Produced by Flicker Productions and directed by Ellie Merz, the documentary delves into how a seemingly ordinary holiday moment catapulted Kay, a construction worker from Newcastle, into internet stardom. The now-iconic eight-second clip, which shows Jack dancing in Ibiza, has garnered over 20 million views and transformed him into a viral sensation. His distinctive haircut, along with his confident dance moves, quickly became the stuff of internet legend — with brands even using his image in advertising campaigns, such as On the Beach’s "Face the Final Boss" Ibiza promotion.

The film follows Jack as he navigates his newfound fame, starting with a trip to his local barber to maintain the signature hairstyle that helped define his viral persona. Viewers also meet his agent, Dave Reed, a well-known talent manager with experience representing reality TV personalities from shows like The Only Way Is Essex. Reed remarks that the media attention Jack has received has exceeded anything he’s seen in his 20-year career.
Jack also returns to Ibiza during the documentary to reconnect with the person who filmed the original viral video, who is now selling official “Ibiza Final Boss” merchandise. As his popularity grows, so does the temptation to fully embrace the party lifestyle of the island. However, those around him caution that maintaining viral relevance requires more than just enjoying the moment — it involves balancing brand opportunities and public image.
Commissioned by Channel 4’s Janine Thomas, the documentary ultimately questions the nature of fleeting internet fame and whether such rapid attention brings long-term benefits or simply momentary notoriety.
