Jessie Cave, best known for her role as Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter film series, revealed that she was recently denied a spot at a Harry Potter fan convention because of her involvement with OnlyFans.
In a post on her Substack (via Collider), Cave shared that event organizers cited her OnlyFans account as a reason for the decision, calling the platform “affiliated with porn” and unsuitable for what they described as a “family show.” Cave expressed confusion over the reasoning, noting that many actors who attend fan conventions have previously performed in roles involving nudity or sex scenes. “This was baffling to me,” she wrote, clarifying that her OnlyFans content is far from explicit. “I’m just playing with my hair.”
The actress launched her OnlyFans page in March 2025, explaining in an Instagram video that her content focuses on “the best quality hair sounds” and “very sensual stuff.” On her podcast Before We Break Up Again, Cave emphasized that her account is not sexual in nature, but rather caters to niche audiences with hair-related interests. “Fetish doesn’t necessarily mean sexual,” she said.
On her Substack, Cave further explained her motivations, saying she committed to OnlyFans for one year to help fund necessary repairs to her home and get out of debt. “My aim? To empower myself… To put time into something I never invested in before: self-love,” she wrote.
While Cave acknowledged feeling “canceled” by parts of the Harry Potter fan community, she also expressed acceptance. “I am not upset about the prospect of no more Harry Potter conventions,” she wrote, adding that a new cast and generation are now taking the spotlight. Cave portrayed Lavender Brown in three films from 2009 to 2011 and has also appeared in Great Expectations, Black Mirror, and Industry.
