Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will lead Pakistan’s delegation to the 80th UN General Assembly in New York from September 22-26, where he is also slated to meet US President Donald Trump alongside other Islamic leaders, the Foreign Office said on Sunday.
The prime minister will be accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, cabinet members, and senior officials.
In his address to the General Assembly, the prime minister is expected to call on the international community to resolve long-standing situations of occupation and denial of self-determination in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and Palestine.

He will place particular emphasis on the worsening crisis in Gaza, urging decisive global action to end the suffering of the Palestinian people.
His speech will also articulate Pakistan’s perspective on regional security, climate change, terrorism, Islamophobia, and sustainable development.
Beyond the General Debate, Prime Minister Shehbaz will participate in a series of high-level engagements on the sidelines of the session. These include meetings of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), a High-Level Meeting of the Global Development Initiative (GDI), and a Special High-Level Event on Climate Action.
PM is also scheduled to join a select group of Islamic leaders in a meeting with US President Donald Trump to discuss pressing issues of regional and international peace and security.
During his stay, the Prime Minister will hold bilateral talks with several world leaders and senior UN officials to exchange views on matters of mutual concern.
He will reiterate Pakistan’s determination to work with all UN member states to uphold the UN Charter, prevent conflict, foster peace, and promote global prosperity, particularly in Pakistan’s ongoing role as a member of the UNSC.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the prime minister’s participation in the world body’s largest annual gathering of leaders will reaffirm Pakistan’s firm commitment to multilateralism, the United Nations, and its longstanding contributions to international peace, stability, and development.
PM’s US trip delayed
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz departure schedule for the United States has been revised, with the premier now set to travel on Monday instead of today.
According to Express News, PM Shehbaz will leave for the US from the United Kingdom tomorrow afternoon (Monday), while Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has already departed for New York from London.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb are expected to arrive in the US later today.
