Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to lead Pakistan’s delegation to the high-level segment of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, scheduled from September 22 to 26, 2025, according to the Foreign Office.
The Prime Minister will be accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, cabinet members, and senior officials.
In his address to the General Assembly, the Prime Minister is expected to call on the international community to resolve long-standing situations of occupation and denial of self-determination in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and Palestine.

He will place particular emphasis on the worsening crisis in Gaza, urging decisive global action to end the suffering of the Palestinian people.
His speech will also articulate Pakistan’s perspective on regional security, climate change, terrorism, Islamophobia, and sustainable development.
Beyond the General Debate, Prime Minister Sharif will participate in a series of high-level engagements on the sidelines of the session. These include meetings of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), a High-Level Meeting of the Global Development Initiative (GDI), and a Special High-Level Event on Climate Action.
PM is also scheduled to join a select group of Islamic leaders in a meeting with US President Donald Trump to discuss pressing issues of regional and international peace and security.
During his stay, the Prime Minister will hold bilateral talks with several world leaders and senior UN officials to exchange views on matters of mutual concern.
He will reiterate Pakistan’s determination to work with all UN member states to uphold the UN Charter, prevent conflict, foster peace, and promote global prosperity, particularly in Pakistan’s ongoing role as a member of the UNSC.
