Minister inspects damaged gas pipeline

Public safety,convenience remain government's top priority

Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik on Saturday inspected the 36-inch gas pipeline damaged in recent floods near Jalalpur Pirwala. According to an official statement, he was accompanied by Petroleum Secretary Momin Agha, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) Managing Director, Commissioner Multan and senior officials.

The minister said public safety and convenience remain the government's top priority. He added that all departments are on high alert to respond swiftly to any emergency. He informed that the damaged line had been isolated in time to prevent loss of life or property.

Malik said uninterrupted gas supply was being maintained through an alternative pipeline. He directed SNGPL officials to ensure continuous monitoring of the network so that any disruption caused by flooding could be addressed immediately.
