Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal on Saturday publicly vaccinated his daughter to dispel rumours and misinformation surrounding the anti-cervical cancer vaccine, saying that the vaccine is safe and essential for protecting future generations.
Speaking at a press conference in the metropolis, the minister said a malicious propaganda campaign was being run to undermine public confidence in the cervical cancer vaccine. "To counter this misleading narrative, I have had my own daughter, Raja Kamal, vaccinated in front of the media to show that there is nothing to fear," he added.
Kamal said that throughout his three-decade-long political career, he had never brought his family before the media. "Today, I did so only to dispel the myths and falsehoods being spread. The daughters of this nation are as precious to me as my own. Our mission is to protect the health of our people, seeking only the pleasure of Allah," he added.
