Taylor Swift will return to theaters this fall with a special event tied to her upcoming album. Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl will debut on October 3, the same day her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, is released.
The 89-minute film will screen through October 5 across AMC Theatres and other major chains, including Regal and Cinemark.
The centerpiece of the program will be the premiere of the music video for “The Fate of Ophelia,” the album’s first single. Fans will also see behind-the-scenes footage from the video shoot, lyric videos for other songs, and Swift’s personal commentary on the album.
Tickets are specially priced at $12, reflecting the album’s 12 tracks and Swift’s 12th release. Sales begin today at 12:12 p.m. ET through AMCTheatres.com and releasepartyofashowgirl.com.
Unlike traditional movie screenings, audiences will be encouraged to sing and dance during the event, although AMC has requested that fans avoid standing on seats or blocking aisles. The film will run without trailers or ads, starting promptly at showtime.
International screenings are set for more than 100 countries, with Canada, the U.K., France, Germany, Australia, and others launching simultaneously with the U.S. rollout. Additional regions will follow later in October.
Swift’s previous theatrical project, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (2023), became the highest-grossing concert film in history, earning $262 million worldwide. While the new release will have a shorter run, theater operators expect it to drive significant box office traffic during its debut weekend.
