The Summer I Turned Pretty has traced Isabel “Belly” Conklin’s summers at Cousins Beach through friendship, grief and a shifting love triangle with Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher. Across three seasons, the series has moved from first crushes to adult choices, ending season three with Belly in Paris and Conrad on his way to see her.
In season one, viewers were introduced to Belly, her brother Steven, their mother Laurel, and the Fisher family. Belly had grown up spending summers at Cousins Beach, harbouring feelings for Conrad while growing close to Jeremiah. The season also introduced Susannah Fisher’s cancer diagnosis, the emotional anchor for the story.
Season two began a year later and revealed that Susannah had died. The Cousins Beach house faced sale by Susannah’s half-sister Julia, but Laurel persuaded her to keep it. Adam Fisher later agreed to sell the Boston home to buy the beach house for Conrad and Jeremiah. Romantic tensions came to a head when Belly ultimately chose Jeremiah, while Conrad prepared to leave for Stanford.
Season three opened with Belly at Finch College studying sports psychology, and in a relationship with Jeremiah. Flashbacks revealed Jeremiah had slept with Lacie during a spring break trip to Cabo, a secret that undermined their engagement announced at Susannah’s memorial. Mid-season episodes showed Belly also keeping quiet about time spent with Conrad at Christmas.
By episode eight of season 3, Jeremiah and Belly’s relationship collapsed during wedding rehearsals. The story then shifted to Paris, where Belly built a new life with friends, language study and work. Taylor connected through FaceTime, arranging to spend New Year’s together.
Conrad meanwhile sent Belly a box of personal items and letters, stirring old emotions. Searching for independence, Belly grows close to Benito, whose steadiness and affection — including a New Year’s Eve kiss — offer her the possibility of something new.
Still, Conrad remains present through his letters, and in episode 10 he reroutes his travel to Paris, to surprise her on her birthday, setting the stage for a direct reunion with Belly.
The Summer I Turned Pretty finale airs on Prime Video at 3am ET on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
