ISLAMABAD:

A newly built parking facility at the Pak Secretariat has been formally opened for government employees and the general public, aimed at addressing long-standing parking issues in Islamabad's federal administrative hub.

Covering an area of around 133,729 square feet, the facility can accommodate a large number of vehicles, offering much-needed relief to employees of major government offices as well as visitors, a Capital Development Authority (CDA) spokesperson said.

He explained that the project would also benefit staff working in nearby government and semi-government institutions.

"This initiative is part of our continuous efforts to enhance civic amenities and develop Islamabad into a well-planned, citizen-friendly city," he said, quoting CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. "By resolving a fundamental issue such as parking, we can ease traffic congestion and save citizens valuable time and energy."

The spokesperson added that the CDA chairman commended the teams involved in completing the project, stressing that the facility would bring convenience for both employees and the wider public. He underlined the importance of parking vehicles only in designated spaces, with signboards installed to guide visitors for a more organised and efficient system.
