The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed that the pleas for suspension of sentences of former prime minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the £190 million case be scheduled for hearing as early as possible in line with court policy.
An IHC bench comprising Justice Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Azam Khan issued this order while hearing pleas filed by Imran and Bushra for early hearing of their appeals against their conviction in a graft case.
Islamabad Accountability Court-I Judge Nasir Javed Rana on Jan 17 found the couple guilty in a corruption reference and sentenced Imran and Bushra respectively to 14 and 7 years in prison.
