Tyler Robinson, 22, has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025.

According to an affidavit reported by People, Robinson is being held without bail at the Utah County Jail and is expected to face charges including aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm, and obstruction of justice, offenses that could carry the death penalty if he is convicted.

Kirk, a leading Republican-aligned MAGA figure through his organization Turning Point USA, was targeted in what investigators describe as a politically charged act.

At the scene, bullet casings were found engraved with phrases such as “Hey fascist! Catch!”, “If you read this, you are gay lmao,” and “Notices bulges OwO what’s this?”, referencing internet subcultures, memes, and even the game Helldivers 2.

Robinson has also been linked to the far-right Groyper movement associated with Nick Fuentes, whose followers have frequently clashed with Kirk.

Though Robinson’s exact ties remain unconfirmed, Fuentes reacted to the assassination by calling it “a nightmare,” saying he was “gutted and devastated,” and urging prayers for Kirk’s family and for peace in the country.

Robinson was caught after a 33-hour manhunt, reportedly following a tip from a family member. His precise motivations remain unclear, but investigators suggest a blend of political grievance, online radicalization, and trolling-infused messaging.
