Cillian Murphy has spoken out about swirling rumors linking him to the role of Lord Voldemort in HBO’s highly anticipated Harry Potter series.

Appearing on a recent podcast interview, the actor firmly denied the speculation, making it clear he has no involvement in the project.

Murphy addressed the chatter with humor, joking that he would prefer not to lose his “beautiful nose,” a playful nod to the villain’s snake-like appearance in the original films.

He also praised Ralph Fiennes, who portrayed Voldemort in the movie franchise, calling him a remarkable actor whose performance would be difficult to follow.

The new HBO adaptation is set to retell J.K. Rowling’s saga across multiple seasons, with each book adapted into its own chapter of the series.

Since Voldemort only subtly appears in the earliest stories, industry observers believe the role may not even come into play until later seasons, when the Dark Lord’s presence becomes central to the plot.

Casting for the series is still ongoing, with confirmed roles including Harry, Hermione, Ron, Dumbledore, McGonagall, Snape, and Hagrid.

However, the actor who will eventually step into Voldemort’s shoes has not been officially announced.
