Borderlands 4 has officially launched on PC ahead of its global release across all platforms, and it's already dominating the Steam charts with a concurrent player count that exceeds all previous titles in the series.
As of this article's publication, Gearbox's latest looter shooter has amassed over 148,000 concurrent players on Steam, making it the sixth most-played game on the platform. For comparison, Borderlands 2 peaked at 124,678 players on Steam 13 years ago, Borderlands 3 hit 93,820 five-and-a-half years ago, and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel reached 68,238 players a decade ago. Even Borderlands Game of the Year Edition only saw a peak of 23,655 players.
These impressive numbers point to a massive launch for Borderlands 4.
