QUETTA: The US Assistance to Agriculture in Balochistan Border Areas (ABBA), under the aegis of United States Agency for International Development (USAID), organised a day-long training workshop here on Tuesday in which a large number of farmers from different districts, including Zhob, Killa Saifullah, Loralai, Mastung and Quetta, took part. Besides farmers, officials from the agriculture department, project staff and community activists also attended the workshop. In order to teach farmers how to calculate the exact cost of production and marketing techniques, a group activity was arranged in which the farmers came up with estimated costs of seeds, land preparation, irrigation, fertilisation, labour and marketing. The farmers said that they were thankful to USAID for funding the ABBA project.
